April 16th and 17th from 10.30 am to 4.30pm
This weekend retreat is devoted to the practice of Green Tara, the mother of all Buddhas, who embodies swift and fearless compassion in action, like Akong Tulku Rinpoche whose Tibetan Monastery bears her name. This will be the last major event to be held at our much loved Walker Street Centre before moving to our beautiful Bernard Street Centre in Leith.

As Losar falls on a Tuesday we will be doing a special Chenrezig Puja dedicated to World Peace, the Health and Happiness of all beings and to the long life of all the precious gurus. In particular we dedicate to the continuous flourishing of the Buddha’s activities by His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa. Everybody is welcome.

Due to illness, the Shrines and Torma Offerings Course is now rescheduled for Saturday February 13th and the Leith volunteer work for Sunday February 14th.

Join us for Medicine Buddha Puja at Walker Street on Friday December 18th at 6pm, and for our Volunteering Meeting at our new centre on Sunday December 20th at 2pm.

A wonderful 5th Anniversary weekend of Refuge Ceremony, Dharma Teachings, Film Show, Meditation Instruction and Guru Rinpoche Shower of Blessing Puja, was crowned with the exciting announcement by Lama Yeshe Rinpoche of a new and larger Centre for Kagyu Samye Dzong Edinburgh!

Kagyu Samye Dzong Edinburgh will be closed throughout August. We wish you all a happy and peaceful time during the summer break and look forward to seeing you again in the new term starting on Monday September 7th.

Blessings from His Holiness Karmapa and the Lineage Masters at the Kagyu Monlams in India. We are happy to announce that both Ringu Tulku Rinpoche and Drupon Rinpoche also send their best wishes for the New Year to everyone at KSD Edinburgh and have agreed to come and teach here in the summer and autumn respectively. We’ll keep you posted once the exact dates are confirmed.

On Sunday 19th October, Ani Rinchen will present an overview of all four foundation practices with particular emphasis on the first practice of Refuge and Bodhicitta.

Kagyu Samye Dzong Edinburgh is closed throughout August for the summer holidays. The Centre re-opens on Monday September 8th for the Autumn term with a full programme of weekly sessions and monthly courses. Details of all these can be found on the calendar and course bookings can be made online.

On the last Saturday of each month, Samye Dzong Edinburgh is offering opportunities for practice, reflection and meditation.

We hope you have had an enjoyable winter break and are now ready to join us for the new term at Samye Dzong Edinburgh where we have a wide range of courses, teachings and weekly activities to benefit body, mind and spirit. Please note that Samye Dzong Edinburgh is open for our daily programme of prayers, classes, and meditation sessions until Friday December 20th when we close for the winter break. The Centre will re-open on Monday January 6th 2014 with a full and varied range of monthly courses as well as our regular weekly programme.
