However\, all donations are much appreciated and go towards the upkeep of the Centre. Any such offerings enable Samye Dzong to serve the community and provide the opportunity to cultivate generosity.

SUMMARY:Saga Dawa & Anniversary Celebrations
DESCRIPTION:Saga Dawa commemorates the Birth\, Enlightenment and PariNirvana of the Buddha\, culminating on the full moon\, which this year falls on the auspicious weekend of May 30th/31st. And in 2026\, it also marks the 10th Anniversary of Kagyu Samye Dzong Edinburgh first opening the doors of the historic building which has become our home. \nIt doesn’t seem like ten years since we moved from our Walker Street venue for the inauguration of our beautiful new Dharma Centre in Bernard Street\, Leith. But here we are\, a decade later\, having survived (Covid!) and thrived in this amazing mandala of a temple\, with old friends and new\, not only from Edinburgh but from around the world\, both in person and online. Thanks to all of you for helping to establish KSDE as a flourishing Dharma Centre for Peace and Health\, so needed in today’s world. \nWe hope many of you will be able to join us for the Anniversary Celebrations. \nSchedule \n2.00 Doors open for gathering and welcome drink in the Yoga Room\n2.30 Enter Shrine Room for Introduction\, Recitation of the Praises and Mantra of Shakyamuni Buddha\n3.00 Opportunity for offering Katas to the Buddha and/or sitting reflection.\n3.30 Tea Party gathering in the Courtyard Garden & Reading Room for Refreshments and catching up with old friends and new. \nEveryone is very welcome but please let us know if you’re coming so we know how many to cater for. Shrine offerings or finger food to share are also welcome : )
