Saga Dawa

The sacred day of Saga Dawa celebrates the Buddha’s Birth, Enlightenment and passing into PariNirvana. It also marks the auspicious 8th Anniversary of Kagyu Samye Dzong Edinburgh's historic Centre in Leith.

Personal Practice Session

Samye Dzong Shrine Room will be available for personal Dharma practice and meditation from 10.30am to 12.30pm.

The Rain of Wisdom – Songs of Gampopa

The Rain of Wisdom this month features the Songs of Dharma Lord Gampopa, in whom the Monastic and Yogic traditions merged to become the Kagyu Lineage, whose current head is His Holiness the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa. Session 5 of the Rain of Wisdom study and meditation course is taught by Ani Rinchen Khandro.

The Four Preliminary Foundations – Part Four

Ani Rinchen presents the concluding session of the Preliminaries, or Four Thoughts That Turn the Mind to Dharma, which represents the culmination of the previous three topics, summed up by the shortcomings of Samsara, or confused worldly life.

Green Tara is the female embodiment of Buddha nature whose practice transforms fears and negativity into strength and loving kindness. Participants need to have taken Refuge and received instruction. However, beginners are also welcome to sit in and make a connection.
