Saga Dawa

May is a most meaningful month in the Buddhist calendar, commemorating the main events of the Buddha’s life.The sacred day of Saga Dawa this year falls on the full moon of May 23rd and celebrates the Buddha’s Birth, Enlightenment and passing into PariNirvana. It also marks the auspicious 8th Anniversary of Kagyu Samye Dzong Edinburgh’s historic Centre in Leith.

6.30pm Welcome Gathering, refreshment and offering of Katas
7.00pm Recitation of the 12 Deeds of the Buddha, Mantra and Meditation
8.00pm Dedication for All sentient beings and World Peace

Prayer and Meditation sessions are offered free of charge. However, all donations are much appreciated and go towards the upkeep of the Centre. Any such offerings enable Samye Dzong to serve the community and provide the opportunity to cultivate generosity.
